There is a lot of controversy in this day and age about Jesus being God but it didn't start now, in St. John 1:11 the scriptures states "He came unto his own, and his own received him not (KJV)". Jesus came to the Jews as the long awaited Messiah and many to this day are still awaiting the Messiah's debut.
So it is no surprise new agers and other occults try to debunk the "Jesus Christ is Lord theory" (Phil 2:11). Let's go back to St. John 1, if we read from verses 1 to 3 we will see where Jesus was being described as the Word, who was God, we are certain it is him as in verse 14 it says the Word became flesh and dwelt among us.....he was the only begotten of the father. In the Jehovah witness bible they have also marginalized Jesus down to only being a son of God or a god and not the manifestation of God in the flesh.
Jesus professed himself to be God in John 8:58 and was about to be killed when he used the same term God gave Moses to tell the pharaoh who he was (Ex 3:14). Another occurrence where he was about to be stoned was St. John 10:30 where he stated "I and the father are one". The Jews were about to stone him as they knew he referred himself as being God. There was no question when the Jews acknowledged Jesus claiming to be God by forgiving the paralytic man's sins, they knew only God had the ability to do this- St. Mark 2:5-7.
In 2 Peter 1:1 & Titus 2:13 the apostles referred to Jesus Christ as God and our savior. In revelations we know Jesus is the first and the last (Rev. 22:13).
Some state there is confusion with the Father, son and holy spirit and confuse them for being three different persons when in fact they are manifestations of the one true God and not different Gods. This is referred to as the Godhead. Jesus is the fulness of the Godhead (Col 2:9).
All in all, Jesus Christ is God, don't be fooled in the last days there will be many doctrines that will seek to derail us from the truth- these are doctrines of devils (1 Tim 4:1).
